Experience
Prior to joining Serious Eats, Ashlee managed the test kitchen for a spice brand and led the menu innovation for 50-plus restaurant locations. She also wrote about restaurants and farmers markets for Denver's independent weekly magazine, Westword. In addition to her work on the commerce team, Ashlee has developed several recipes for Serious Eats, including one for her favorite Midwestern dish, bierocks.
When she's not geeking out about food gear, Ashlee loves hosting dinner parties, drinking whiskey cocktails, and combing through the cookbook sections at thrift stores.
Favorite Purchase
My ThermoWorks ChefAlarm probe thermometer fills me with delight every time I unzip its little carrying case. I pride myself on making the best Thanksgiving turkey, and it is my secret weapon every November. For the other 364 days a year, I use it for roast chickens, steaks on the grill, and even baked goods.
Education
Ashlee has a B.S. in Culinary Arts and Nutrition with a concentration in Research & Development from Johnson & Wales University.
